Almost 50% of small business looking green

Nearly 50% of small businesses surveyed in a Wells-Fargo/Gallop poll are taking steps to demonstrate their environmental awareness to customers.

2/3rds of small businesses surveyed stated that they would be willing to pay more for environmentally-responsible products. They don't have to. There are plenty of good green hosting plans that meet or beat current price points, making green hosting a cost-effective investment in your brand.

US will announce carbon-reduction target

US is set to announce carbon-reduction targets

Getting ready to head to Copenhagen's climate change summit, the Obama administration is preparing to lower carbon emissions by 17-20%. These are pretty decent targets, pretty moderate in my opinion. I think we need to focus on the big issues like bunker fuel and auto fuel efficiency.

Obviously, switching to environmentally-friendly green hosting will have an enormous amount of energy, as the average server pumps about a half-ton of carbon emissions into the atmosphere annually.

Wow, is this confusing

Wow, is this confusion

I thought this was going to be a fairly easy task to pick a good host. It's like saying you want pie, or a dog. Or some metaphor I can't quite grasp right now.

There are no standards in green hosting.

How the hell does a customer figure out what's a decent fit? I'm going to have to map this out in a more logical manner.

Going solar

Looking to go solar

I'm hoping to go solar with my hosting business. I have way too many servers and need to clean things up a bit. Does anyone know how to do an energy audit?
